Coats for Kids

Overview
Each year, Schaumburg Township is collects NEW coats, snow pants, winter boots, hats and gloves for low-income students in School District 54. Juneteenth

Overview
Don’t miss the annual Juneteenth Celebration! Juneteenth is a family-friendly event where the community can come together to celebrate freedom. Pack the Bus

Event Date: TBD 2025

Overview
Support District 54 students in need with our annual school supply drive. The 2025 date will be shared at a future date. There are three ways to donate:

  1. Drop off or ship new school supplies to the Township.
  2. Bring donations to our Pack the Bus event.
  3. Consider monetary donations on our website (tinyurl.com/5sn3brev) or deliver a check (made to “Schaumburg Township” with “Pack the Bus” in the memo section) to the Township.

List of needed supplies:

  • Spiral notebooks (wide ruled)
  • Folders (solid colors)
  • Headphones/earbuds
  • Dry erase markers
  • Markers (thin and thick)
  • Post-It notes/sticky notes, 3×3
  • Supply box, standard size
  • Back pack/school bag (3 ring binder needs to fit inside) – gender neutral
  • Highlighters
  • Glue sticks/white glue bottles
  • 1” 3 ring hard binders, white (with clear plastic cover)
  • Binder dividers (set of 5)
  • Crayons – 36, 24, and 16 count
  • Pens (black, blue, red)
  • Handheld pencil sharpener with cover for shavings
  • Colored pencils – 24 count
  • Gym shoes – all sizes
  • Art smocks
  • Scissors
  • Pink erasers
  • Zippered pencil pouch
  • 12” plastic ruler (inches and centimeters)

Rabies and Microchip Clinic


Event Date: TBD 2025

Overview
The Rabies and Microchip Clinic is held once a year, typically in the summer or fall. The 2024 event date is September 14 from 10 – 1pm, at One Illinois Blvd, Hoffman Estates IL, 60169.  For questions about the clinic event please contact the Clerk’s office at 847-285-4561. Owners must be Cook County residents and present a valid driver’s license or state ID. Pets must be at least three months old and will be served on a first-come-first-served basis. Owners will be given a vaccine certificate and can order a rabies tag post event here: cookcountyil.gov/service/rabies-vaccination-tags.


Shred Day


Event Date: June 7, 2025
Overview

Shred Day is held once a year, typically in spring or summer, at One Illinois Blvd, Hoffman Estates IL, 60169. For questions about the shred event please contact the Clerk’s office at 847-285-4561.

Paper Items

Paper shredding is limited to four boxes or paper bags per vehicle (1 cubic ft. or 15 x 12 x 10). Boxes must be unsealed, and plastic bags are not allowed. Paper clips, staples and rubber bands do not need to be removed. To conduct a contactless shredding, boxes or bags must be easily accessible in your vehicle’s trunk and residents should remain in their vehicles at all times. This a free event and available to Schaumburg Township residents only. Businesses will not be permitted at this event.


Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive


Event Date: May 10, 2025
Overview

Residents can participate in the annual National Association of Letter Carriers’ Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive each second Saturday in May. To participate, simply fill a bag with non-perishable food items and place near your mailbox on May 10, 2025, and your letter carrier will pick it up and deliver your donation to the Schaumburg Township Food Pantry*! Any donation, big or small, can make a difference. Thank you for your support!

*Please note not all post offices and letter carriers in Schaumburg Township partner with the Schaumburg Township Food Pantry for this nationwide event. We encourage all residents to participate to support food pantries across the area. Donations to any food donation is a win for the community!


Trunk or Treat


Event Date: October 23, 2025
Overview

Join us for an evening of frightful fun at the Township’s drive-through Trunk or Treat on October 23 from 3-7pm at One Illinois, Blvd Hoffman Estates. Participation is easy! Drive-through our parking lot and local vendors will hand out candy through your car window. Due to event popularity, the line will close at 6:30pm. More information about additional contests will be announced closer to the event date.
