Veteran Services Officer Shynae Murphy is available for walk-in service at the Township of Schaumburg. Township Veteran service is open to all veterans and their families to assist in understanding and applying for qualified benefits. VSO Shynae Murphy can also assist veterans with copies of discharge papers, providing information on disability compensation, burial benefits and allowances, and much more. In a case where she cannot help, a referral can be made to a source that may help the veteran.

The Township is holding our first Veteran Resource Fair on Saturday, October 3 from 9 am to 1 pm. Local vendors will share available veteran resources at this free event. The following vendors will be present on this day.
In addition to the resource fair, the Township is also collecting new cleaning supplies during October to be donated to newly housed veterans in our area. For a complete list of supplies and resource fair information, please view the handout below.

The National Center of Excellence for Veterans and their Families at Rush University Medical Center offers The Road Home Program.
This is a free service which offers mental healthcare services for Veterans, Active-Duty Members, National Guard, Reservist and family members struggling with the invisible wounds of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), military sexual trauma (MST) and related conditions. They offer many options for their programs, including online visits.
