Residents can now apply for 2025 property tax exemptions. The Township Assessor’s Office can assist with applications for homeowner, senior, senior freeze, disabled persons, and disabled veteran (service-connected) exemptions.

If an exemption is approved for the 2025 tax year, it will appear on the second installment property tax bill this year, as all exemptions are applied to the second installment bill.

Homeowner, senior, and disabled persons exemptions automatically renew each year after the initial application. Senior Freeze and Disabled Veteran exemptions must be renewed annually. Residents renewing the Senior Freeze should wait for the blue renewal form from the Cook County Assessor; if it has not arrived by the second week of April, bring your 2024 tax return or 2024 1099 forms to the Assessor’s Office for assistance.

To apply for any exemption, homeowners must bring a driver’s license that was valid in 2025. If the license was issued in 2026, a bank statement from any month in 2025 must also be provided.

Residents who need help completing exemption applications can contact the Township Assessor’s Office at 847-884-0030 or visit for assistance.
