A free appeals seminar will be held at the Township (One Illinois Blvd, Hoffman Estates IL 60169) on October 23 from 5-7pm. Learn about the tax appeal process and how to appeal. Participants should bring their second installment property tax bill or their pin. No registration is required. The event will be hosted by Township of Schaumburg Assessor John R. Lawson and Cook County Board of Review Commissioner George Cardenas, along with Cook County Commissioners Kevin Morrison and Sean Morrison, State Senator Cristina Castro, State Senator Laura Murphy, State Representatives Fred Crespo and Michelle Mussman and Township Supervisor Timothy Heneghan.
Residents can appeal their Cook County property taxes with the Board of Review at the Township of Schaumburg now through November 3, 2023. The Township is open during the appeals period to assist residents Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:30 – 5pm and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 – 6:30pm. The Township has two options for appeals:
“The Township Assessor’s Office is pleased to offer residents fast and easy service when filing appeals,” said Township of Schaumburg Assessor John R. Lawson. “Even if you received a successful appeal this fall with the Cook County Assessor’s Office, you can still appeal with the Board of Review.”
