Cook County Board of Review Commissioner George Cardenas, Township of Schaumburg Assessor John R. Lawson and Cook County Commissioner Kevin B. Morrison, in conjunction with Illinois State Senator Laura Murphy, Illinois State Senator Cristina Castro, Illinois State Representative Fred Crespo, Illinois State Representative Michelle Mussman and Cook County Commissioner Sean Morrison will host a free property tax appeal seminar for Schaumburg Township residents on January 6, 2025, at 5:30pm at School District 54 Professional Learning Center (522 E. Schaumburg Road, Schaumburg, Door C1).
At the seminar, residents will receive an overview on how to file an appeal and one-on-one assistance. Schaumburg Township homeowners can appeal their Cook County property taxes through January 7, 2024. Residents who cannot attend the seminar can submit their appeal to the Cook County Board of Review through the Township, virtually or in person by:
The Township can assist with residential property tax appeals for townhomes and single-family homes, but cannot process condo, apartment or commercial property appeals. Residents living in condos and apartments should work with their respective association representative.
