Township of Schaumburg Assessor John R. Lawson and Cook County Commissioner Kevin B. Morrison, in conjunction with Illinois State Senator Laura Murphy, Illinois State Senator Cristina Castro, Illinois State Representative Fred Crespo, Illinois State Representative Michelle Mussman, Cook County Commissioner Sean Morrison and Cook County Assessor Fritz Kaegi, will host a free property tax appeal seminar for Schaumburg Township residents on October 30 at 6pm at School District 54 Professional Learning Center (522 E. Schaumburg Road, Schaumburg, Door C1).

At the seminar, residents will receive an overview on how to file an appeal and one-on-one assistance. Schaumburg Township homeowners can appeal their Cook County property taxes through November 5, 2024. Residents who cannot make the seminar will still have time to appeal with the Township, virtually or in person by:

  • Emailing Victor Morales at vmorales@schtwn.org your home pin number, phone number, email and home address. This is the fastest and most convenient way to appeal – no visit to the office is required. Emails must be received at least one hour before closing on the last day of appeals.
  • Visiting the Township Monday through Friday from 8:30am-5pm. You’ll need to bring your pin number, phone number email and home address.

The Township can assist with residential property tax appeals for townhomes and single-family homes, but cannot process condo, apartment or commercial property appeals. Residents living in condos and apartments should work with their respective association representative.

Any questions can be directed to the Township of Schaumburg Assessor’s Office at 847-285-4567. Additional information can be found at schaumburgtownship.org/departments/assessors-office/.
