The Assessor appeal window is now open through November 19, 2026. During this time, we are putting a hold on exemption filing and will resume after the appeal window closes.

If you would like to file a property tax appeal with the help from the Schaumburg Township Assessor’s Office, you have two options to do so:

Online Appeal Process

Send an email to appeals@schtwn.org and include the following:

• Name
• Property pin number
• Property address
• Phone number

You will receive an acknowledgement that your email was received, and this serves as your appeal confirmation. You will not receive an appeal number or comparables.

In-Person Appeal Process

Visit the Township Assessor’s office (1 Illinois Blvd., Hoffman Estates) Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5pm

Bring your property tax bill or bring the following information:

• Name
• Property pin number
• Property address
• Phone number

We will file online for you and try to find comparables. You will receive a paper copy of your appeal filing with your appeal number and comparables.

If you own a condominium, it is best to appeal with your association. If they do not submit appeals, then we can help you. This does require coming into our office since you will have to sign an Appeal Narrative Affidavit. We will not be able to find comparables but will submit an appeal without them.
