The Township of Schaumburg’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee, in partnership with the Turkish American Society of Chicago (TASC) and the Niagara Foundation, invites community members to attend a Ramadan Iftar Dinner on Wednesday, March 4 from 5 to 7pm at the Township building (1 Illinois Blvd. in Hoffman Estates). This is a free event. Please RSVP by February 27: Ramadan Iftar Dinner RSVP.
Ramadan is observed by Muslims around the world and is marked by daily fasting from sunrise to sunset, along with prayer, reflection, and community. Each evening, the fast is broken with an Iftar meal, a longstanding tradition focused on gratitude and connection. This event provides an opportunity for residents of all backgrounds to come together, learn more about Ramadan, and take part in this cultural experience.
Attendees will have the opportunity to meet community members, engage in conversation, and participate in a tradition that highlights the Township’s commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion. The evening will include remarks and presentations followed by the Iftar dinner.
All community members are encouraged to attend and take part in this welcoming and educational evening.
