Residents can appeal their Cook County property taxes at the Township of Schaumburg now through February 3, 2026. The Township is open during the appeals period to assist residents Monday through Friday from 8:30–5pm. The Township has two options for residents to complete appeals. They are:

  • Email appeals@schaumburgtownship.org your home pin number, phone number, email and home address. This is the fastest and most convenient way to appeal – no visit to the office is required. Emails must be received by 4pm on February 3.
  • Visit the Township Monday through Friday from 8:30-5pm. Bring your pin number, phone number, email and home address.

“Now is the time for residents to come to the Township and make a final appeal on their residential property taxes,” said newly sworn-in Township of Schaumburg Assessor Victor Morales. “I encourage all homeowners to take advantage of this free service, even if your appeals were unsuccessful previously, as comparable properties may change making each review worthwhile. I know Schaumburg Township residents will be in good hands with my team of dedicated and knowledgeable staff.”

The Township can assist with residential property tax appeals for townhomes and single-family homes, but cannot process condo, apartment or commercial property appeals. Residents living in condos and apartments should work with their respective association representative.

Residents on the Senior Freeze are not able to submit appeals because the Senior Freeze “freezes” your home value. Homeowners can confirm they are Senior Freeze recipients by reviewing their most recent second installment property tax bill.

At this very busy time, residents with questions about exemptions and other Assessor’s Office responsibilities are encouraged to visit or call the office after February 3 to avoid long wait times.

Any questions can be directed to the Township of Schaumburg Assessor’s Office at 847-285-4569. Additional information can be found on our Assessor’s Office page.
