Reports to: Director of Welfare Services, Supervisor of Program Support Services
Hourly Rate: $19.48

Under the Supervisor of Program Support Services, this position is responsible for maintaining the food pantry space, including, but not limited to, stocking shelves, refrigerators, freezers, and the fresh produce area while implementing food sanitation standards. This position requires constant public interaction with donors, volunteers, clients, and retailers in a courteous, professional manner in the representation of the Township.

Hours: 9:00 AM-5:00 PM Monday through Friday and special events if requested.

Responsibilities/Essential Functions

  • Maintain food pantry space including, but not limited to, stocking shelves, refrigerators, freezers, and fresh produce areas while implementing food sanitation standards.
  • Organize food pantry space and storage areas
  • Assist with sorting donations for distribution
  • Assist donors with donations as needed
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with staff members
  • Maintain residents’ personal identifiable information

Required Skills, Knowledge, Education, and Abilities

  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) award.
  • Ability to respond to complex, stressful, or sensitive situations with diplomacy and tact.
  • Accomplish work independently with minimal supervision, as well as in a group
  • Strong organizational skill
  • Base level technology and computer skill
  • Bilingual in any of the following (Spanish, Hindi, Polish, Russian, Bulgarian, Ukrainian) is a plus

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this role, the employee must consistently engage in activities such as sitting, utilizing repetitive motion, and communicating. Additionally, the employee will frequently be required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers for handling and feeling, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must be capable of bending, squatting, climbing stairs, and reaching overhead. It is essential for the employee to be able to stand for the majority of the day and to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Working Conditions

  • This position is primarily executed indoors; however, it may require contact with outdoor weather for special events.
  • This position has no benefits offered at this time
